(a) Behavior analysts are truthful and honest and arrange the environment to promote truthful and honest behavior in others.
(b) Behavior analysts do not implement contingencies that would cause others to engage in fraudulent, illegal, or unethical conduct.
(c) Behavior analysts follow through on obligations, and contractual and professional commitments with high quality work and refrain from making professional commitments they cannot keep.
(d) Behavior analysts’ behavior conforms to the legal and ethical codes of the social and professional community of which they are members. (See also, 10.02a Timely Responding, Reporting, and Updating of Information Provided to the BACB)
(e) If behavior analysts’ ethical responsibilities conflict with law or any policy of an organization with which they are affiliated, behavior analysts make known their commitment to this Code and take steps to resolve the conflict in a responsible manner in accordance with law.– BACB CODE 1.04
It’s been a little while. Work really picked up and I’ve been so busy. Poetry is fast and easy for me so I’ve been writing a ton of that. However, let’s continue the series shall we?
BACB Code 1.04. Integrity. This can apply to every aspect of life. There are obviously multiple things that we need to look at in regards to integrity. Here’s the short version.
A). Be REAL! Don’t try to cover anything up. Be up front from the jump that way you aren’t lying about anything.
B). Don’t be shady. Don’t coerce people. Just do what’s right.
C). Be accountable. If you make an agreement, uphold it. The end. That’s how you should be in life. Unless, mental health you know. Then in that case, avoid making agreements you might not uphold!
D). References code 10.02 Timely Responding, Reporting, and Updating of Information Provided to the BACB. Follow the ethics code. If you see someone who is not following it or if you violate it, then it needs to be reported within 30 days to the board.
E). When you become a BCBA, you must commit to the ethical code and if your organization doesn’t follow this code, then you must try to work this out follow the order of commands pretty much.
